qooWeather: a new commercial weather widget

Don't get too excited, now. A decent weather widget is what many of us have wanted for years on Symbian and Nokia's Map Suite version is now pretty and reliable. Not to mention flexible in terms of the locations it supports. In contrast, qooWeather, a new commercial weather widget, has very limited suggested locations and its only saving graces are that it shows an extra day in advance (over and above the 3 day view shown by Nokia Weather) and uses Google's official weather API.

Available in the Nokia Store for £1, we took the hit for you and installed qooWeather:

From left to right: the city setup screen (there's no geolocation via Positioning/GPS, as far as I can tell) - many countries only have one city listed in the suggestions pick list, which is very disappointing - apparently you can tap in the text field and type in a city of your own, at least; qooWeather's main page, showing the main downloaded forecast and the choice of refresh frequency; finally, the qooWeather widget in place above the standard Nokia Maps Suite one

I have to say that I still prefer Nokia Weather - it's prettier and friendlier, plus it's also free, making it easy to recommend to all.
