Borg, one of several very popular Facebook clients for Symbian, just got itself a big rewrite in QML and a big new version number. v2, adding a timeline feature, Drive integration, dozens of UI improvements, Facebook Chat, and more. There's also a new tiled front end that's extremely Windows Phone-esque... Interesting. Changelog below.

Changelog since the last reviewed version (v1.4.3):

• New tiled front end
• Timeline function lets you retrieve data feed at the time selected, e.g. select 1 Jan 2012 and you get the feed as it was that day...
• Big UI revamp - the main menu is now always accessible on demand by bottom middle main toolbar button  so you can easily access a feature without closing current activity
• Nokia Maps Drive navigation integrated on each location node
• Facebook Chat and Inbox now available
• Emoticon supported on reading messages
  
• All icons are retrieved dynamically from mobileborg.com and cached... very soon, other sets of icon will be available on the Settings menu, e.g. not only standard Nokia icons but Facebook style icons, or a third party designed icon set and emoticons
• The upper right switch on each list lets you show only tagged items
• Item can be tagged by a popup Toggle tag
• Tagged friends are added to check in automatically, i.e. you have to tag friends in the list to get them added on check in

The version in the Nokia Store is the commercial one - the free release of Borg will also be available shortly with inneractive ads, it's already up on facebook.com/mobileborg. It's Symbian^3 and upwards only, the developer is looking into making available a tweaked version for S60 5th Edition handsets.
