AutoStartS80 is a small utility that allows you to define which applications and files should be opened when your Communicator is rebooted.
When AutoStartS80 starts, it will show the list of applications and files which will be autostarted. To add an application or file to the startup likst, click the "Add" button. To remove an application or file from the startup list, select its name and click the "Remove" button.
To activate or deactive the AutoStart functionality, press the (De)activate button. The applications and files in the autostart list will only be started when AutoStart is active.
You don't need to keep AutoStart running for it to do its work. Simply define which files and applications you want to start automatically, make sure AutoStart is activated (the status is shown in the AutoStart title bar) and exit the application.
AutoStartS80 is freeware. You can find it at http://opldev.broeze.com (alternative link).
Note: AutoStartS80 uses a new version of S80Utils.opx. If you have an older version of this OPX installed, you need to close all application that use this OPX (like iDesk, SkinStudio, RSCEdit etc) before installing the new version.
could a s60 version of this be developed??

Dear Arjen,
Would you pls advise what is the different between previous opx with the latest OPX that is available on your website ?
Last time when I got the previous opx from Roman Keller's rebooter 1.6
It shows utils.opx v.1.5 while your up-dated utils opx is version 1.41
when I installed your updated utils opx (version 1.41) it did not remove the previous utils opx
Pls advise, which one is the most current ?
Thus, on the guidance for installing rebooter 1.6, I have to follow the installing steps asfs :
1. OPL runtime for 9300 - 9500 (provided when downloading rebooter 1.6)
2. OPL utils OPX (provided when downloading rebooter 1.6)
3. APP info OPX (provided when downloading rebooter 1.6)
4. Rebooter 1.6
Also you mentioned, once we install OPL utils OPX (which contains APPinfoOPX)
we don't need to install any other additional package such as app info opx
Pls advise
Thank you very much
There are two xxxUtils.opx libraries: OplUtils and S80Utils.
OplUtils.opx works on both Communicator types (9210 and 9300/9500). S80Utils.opx only works on 9300/9500 and contains additional functionality which is not available on the 9210 (like Image functionality).
The latest version of S80Utils.opx is 1.41 and this is required to be installed for AutoStart.
If other applications use other OPX's you need to install them as well. For example, Rebooter uses OplUtils.opx (v1.5) and AppInfo.opx (v1.0). Even though all the functionality of these OPX's is present in S80Utils, the Rebooter application will look for these OPX's to be installed and will not run otherwise. Since most OPX libraries are fairly small, it is no problem to install lots of them since they will only be loaded in memory if an application is actually using them.
In general, you do not need to install an OPX if a newer version is already installed on your computer.
Dear Arjen,
Thank you, your explanation is very clear.
Just wondering if S 60 ver 3.0 can be better than S 80 V 2.0
