I notice it says "new product" again, so that they can avoid giving all those who forked out for Handy Day1, 2, 3, 4 or Handy Day 2004 the promised free upgrades.

Nice one Epocware!

I would say its probably fair in this case. The program is a complete rewrite. In fact I'm suprised Epocware haven't given it another name.

Completely agree with you Bassey! It looks like the same old trick Epocware pulled on the 2004 version... If this is true, there will be no more epocware products for me!

Which would be all well and good if it weren't for the following;

1) Epocware promised in March this year to update Handy Day 4 with some of the new features in Handy day 2004 and that this update would be available (if memory serves) in June. But it hasn't arrived.

2) Handy Day 2004 was sold with the usual proviso that all updats would be provided free of charge but, to my knowledge, none have ever been released. Of course, it's only speculation, but it looks like this is because they have been busy writing yet another version (the second "new product" that does the same as all the others in a slightly fancier way in less than eight months) rather than fullfilling their promises to their existing customer base.

In my opinion, Epocware's treatment of it's customers this years sucks! At the very least, the people who name these applications want shooting. If it's a brand new product, don't give it an almost identical name to two remarkably similr products that already exist.

And the argument that "it's just the same as microsoft do in the PC market" cuts no ice with me. Just because some other company has made itself rich and powerfull ripping off it's customers doesn't make it right.

This is why I stopped buying anything Epocware a while ago.

Other, nicer companies always release things that do basically the same thing so I'm quite happy to wait for them and spend my money supporting their growth.

Hey ho, it's not like they ever make new versions for S60 anyways!

well i did it! 😊
its totally different to HD04. its in a tracker format i reckon (plugins and all)
looks quite flash
has FC mode which is good

Weren't you supposed to say anything about it... 😉

Anyway, FC mode sounds really good. I just MIGHT change my mind....... (but it better be good 😃)

:deal:

Be careful with what you say...no information should be given out by betatesters before the final release...

oops sorry! sort of slipped out. a beta test forum would be a good idea i reckon? symbianwave had on for MP Pro

They used one for Handy Day 2004...I've no idea why they didn't use it again for all apps that followed (Key Mapper, Handy Explorer, HD2005,...)...

in the 2005 version; that I quite
liked. The weather thinga gimick totally useless

I have just installed the 14 day trial on my A1000 and whilst it looks very nice and seems to make everything much more accessible, when i click on something like sms, it returns me back to the defauly UIQ menu system when i've finished,

Is there a way to make Handy Day the default ?

Also, are you still looking for beta testers ?

It's way past beta stage already. Maybe for Handy Day 2006 🙄

Anyway, HandyDay doesn't really have it's own Calendar or Messaging app, it just uses the info from the default UIQ apps. That's why it keeps "sending you back" to the apps if you want to change/create something
