Country at a time

Published by Steve Litchfield at 7:28 UTC, May 7th

Q. Nokia Maps is working fine on my N95 but what I really want is not to suffer continual data charges. How can I preload country content?

A. Go to Nokia's www.smart2go.com and download the special Map Loader utility. It'll prompt you to choose countries and then will download the data straight to your N95's memory card (either in Mass Storage mode or via a card reader).

Note that Map Loader is very slow, allow a couple of hours for the download and install.

Comment: It seems that you need either a pc (not a Mac) or one of a few specific mobile phones of which N95 is not one (yet). I couldn't get it to work with a Mac and N95.

Comment: The latest (non-beta) version, is also availble on the N95 support pages of the Nokia website.
