Q. I'm having problems with my Nokia S60 3rd Edition-powered E75, which I've had for almost a year. First of all, the available space on its internal disk has been dwindling and is now down to 10MB or so. I thought I'd try taking your oft-given advice and backup/wipe/restore, but File manager>Backup is giving me a 'Memory full' error, even though it's the only thing running! Help!
A. 'Memory full' on a Symbian-powered handset usually refers to RAM being full. Or, in the case (as here) of a small utility on a just-booted phone, to RAM appearing to be full because something's horribly corrupted in the operating system. Have you had any other symptoms or problems?
Regardless, you had the right idea and, at the risk of upsetting pet lovers, 'there's more than one way to skin a cat'.
You'll then have all your personal data back, plus a working OS and, in all probability, several tens of Megabytes of extra free C: disk space (now that the detritus of the year has been spring cleaned!).
There will be a few tidy up items, of course. You'll want to reinstall any applications that you had installed on C: and you'll need to re-pair your phone with any accessories.
