I'm a big SMS user. Is this what's eating up my 9210i's internal disk space?
Q. I am repeatedly seeing a message 'memory full' on my Nokia 9210i, even though I've moved all my documents to the memory card. Now I can't use my Communicator because I don't want to delete the only remaining files I can find there - my large (over a thousand) store of SMS messages and Calendar data. And when I go to 'Control Panel | Memory | Device', it says that out of 16MB available, 11MB are mysterious 'other file types'. I connected the 9210i to my PC, but there I could see only two folders on the 'C' disc: 'Documents' (almost zero) and 'System' (5MB). What's eating up all my memory?
How can I speed up choosing a message recipient?
Q. Whenever I want to create a new text or email message, pressing 'Recipient' is followed by a wait of over fifteen seconds, which is really frustrating, even when I'm not in a hurry. Why is the Nokia 9500 so slow in this area and is there anything I can do about it?

Why is searching so slow in Contacts?

After resetting my 9300, Calendar is horrendously slow

But when I browse around my Calendar, the application takes an age to display its entries, especially when I move between different months. I can't think of anything I've done wrong. Q. I’ve been using my new 9300 quite a bit on the World Wide Web. I can’t see a GPRS counter application though. How can I find out how many kilobytes of data I’ve used?
Bluetooth connection to my smartphone has stopped working!
Q. Help, the Bluetooth connection to my smartphone has suddenly stopped working. I haven't changed anything in the setup of either PC or phone and both have been rebooted several times. Any ideas? I'd hate to go back to using the cable, Bluetooth is just so convenient!
Overnight battery drain with a Bluetooth smartphone
Q. I'm mystified. I go to bed at night with my smartphone next to me, showing a full charge, and in the morning it's down to almost zero. I've rebooted and made sure that there no extra, running applications that might be hammering the processor, and yet every night the story's the same. Is my smartphone faulty?
Low battery life, no rogue applications
Q. My Nokia smartphone doesn't seem to take long to get through a full battery charge. I've read tips about checking for rogue programs in memory and I regularly use TaskSpy, but by the end of a day on the road the battery's almost always very low. Do you think it's charging properly?
Getting rid of Autolock
Q. Help! I've been trying out the freeware Autolock, which locks my smartphone keypad after a set number of seconds, but I've now decided that I don't want it after all and I've removed it from my smartphone. The trouble is that the phone still locks the keypad after a couple of minutes, even though the utility is long gone. Is there something else I need to do in the smartphone's settings?
How can I quickly enter a carriage return on my smartphone?
A. I'm struggling at writing text quickly on my Nokia smartphone, even with the aid of T9 predictive text. One 'special' character I use a lot is 'carriage return' (i.e. end of paragraph). Surely there's got to be some quick way of entering this common stroke without having to bring up the 'Select symbol' list and then use seven keystrokes to select carriage return?
Why does TomTom MOBILE 5 not start?
Q. I've installed TomTom MOBILE 5 on my Nokia smartphone and the icon's there in the applications screen, but when I activate it the screen just goes white as if it was starting OK and then the icon reappears. Any ideas?How can I re-save my photos at a smaller size for moblogging?
Q. I want to start moblogging from my Nokia megapixel smartphone but I'm very wary of the GPRS costs of sending my megapixel images (up to 600K each) over the air. Is there any software that can reduce the pixel size of each image prior to sending it? I don't want to take my photos in a lower resolution because at the end of the day I also want to print most of them.How can I purge Messaging of old, orphaned attachments?
Q. According to FExplorer, my smartphone's mail system has a number of file attachments, all quite old and all using up valuable space.
