Backing up everything?

Q. How can I back up everything on my Symbian smartphone? Not just data, but every application, every license key, and so on?

Q. In an attempt to work out why my microSD card was full, I connected my smartphone to my Mac in 'Disk Transfer' mode. Aha - I found a load (Gigabytes!) of old music files from when I used to sync my phone with a Windows PC. I then deleted the root directory containing all these files and.... it seems that the disk is still full! Obviously, there's something going wrong in the counting, but what, and how do I fix it?

Browsing the contents of another phone via Bluetooth

Q. Is it possible to browse the contents of another phone via Bluetooth? My old Samsung could do this. Once paired you would also have the option to browse the files of the phone (images, video and audio).

Problems sending faxes

Q. I have tried to get faxing to work with my Nokia Communicator, but every fax I try to send (from Messaging) causes an 'F' to appear in the corner of the screen and I am then told that the fax failed. How can I fix this?

Do I need a firewall?

Q. On my PC I have the ZoneAlarm firewall loaded all the time, to protect myself against Internet-borne nasties. Do I need to do something similar for my smartphone?

Installation of PC Suite crashes with MSXML-related error

Q. I've been trying to install the Nokia PC Suite software, but when I get to the end of the installation I get an error:

How can I search through all my information?

Q. I've got quite a bit of information tucked away in my PIM apps, plus other office documents and general files on my Nokia smartphone. But how can I perform a global search for a piece of text? On my old Palm OS handheld, this was possible, is there not an equivalent in Symbian OS?

Why do Web, Contacts and Calendar not exit when I use 'Exit'?

Q. Why do Web, Contacts and Calendar not exit when I use 'Exit'? They seem to disappear but then when I look at my running programs in iDesk, they're still there. Not that it's a problem, but I'm worried about the amount of RAM being used unnecessarily.

Q. Why does PC Suite seem to be "Connected" but not let me browse my Nokia's files or use the various Suite utilities?

Why can I send MMS messages but not receive them?

Q. I can send MMS messages, but I can't actually receive them. When someone sends a picture to me, I don't see the actual picture. but a link to a page on my network provider's web site instead. I've double checked the MMS settings and they seem to be correct.
