With the Wayfinder SpeedAlert software and a GPS receiver* your mobile phone becomes an easy-to-use real time speed indication tool. Furthermore, with Wayfinder SpeedAlert you use your mobile phone as a speed camera indicator when driving in Europe.
More than ever before, traffic safety is now imposed on drivers by a constantly increasing number of speed cameras, primarily situated in locations and areas where the risk of accidents is highest. To have advance warning of speed cameras is not, therefore, to trick the authorities out of a speeding fine, so much as to make drivers aware of upcoming danger spots considerably earlier. Wayfinder SpeedAlert is thereby an ideal tool to become conscious of dangerous traffic areas throughout Europe.
Utilising GPS functionality, your mobile phone knows where you are relative to the traffic camera location and gives both visual and audible warnings of approaching traffic observation areas, such as speed or red-light cameras. In selected markets drivers will also benefit from differentiation between speed, mobile and red-light cameras, as well as section and distance control.
Wayfinder SpeedAlert covers 21 countries throughout Europe and includes more than 17 000 speed camera locations. The software is yours for life and can also be transferred between phones at anytime. The Speed Camera update service is included for 12 months.
When driving in areas outside the reach of traffic cameras you can set the maximum speed you prefer, at the push of a button. This feature then gives you both visual and audible warnings if you are exceeding the speed limit that you've set for yourself.
You can also sign up, free of charge, to join the Wayfinder SpeedAlert user network, allowing you to keep other users informed about new speed camera locations and receive reciprocal information from other user network members. There are obvious advantages in belonging to a Europe-wide user network that keeps you informed about new traffic observation areas as they are set up.
