PulseTime offers a screensaver mode where the current time lights up on the display in regular intervals. That way, the screensaver does not consume extra power - and it looks cool, too!
PulseTime is an app which behaves exactly like a usual screensaver: it comes on after 30 seconds of user inactivity, and it goes away after tapping the screen, pressing a button, or receiving a text message or a call.
PulseTime features a Control Screen that you can always bring up by holding down the Menu key. There, you can deactivate the clock screensaver, or select the interval in which the screen will light up to display the time. Choosing a short interval lets you keep track of every minute passing (and get your phone some extra attention). With a long interval, the screensaver does not consume any extra battery life. You can also quickly disable/enable the clock screensaver by locking/unlocking the phone.
NEW: If you just wish to have the current time ready at a glance for a certain occasion only, you can now set PulseTime to deactivate after 3 hrs.
