Author's Description

Kakuro - the new, addictive brain teaser!

Sometimes called "Cross-sums" or "Kakro", Kakuro is Sudoku's bigger brother and is the newest puzzle craze from Japan!

Think of KaKuro as the mathematical equivalent of crosswords, it is a fun, entertaining and highly addictive puzzle game that will challenge and perplex you.

How do you play Kakuro?

A Kakuro consists of a playing area of filled and empty cells similar to a crossword puzzle. Some black cells contain a diagonal slash from top left to bottom right with numbers in them, called "the clues". A number in the top right corner relates to an "across" clue and one in the bottom left a "down" clue.
The object of a Kakuro is to insert digits into the white cells to total the clue associated with it. However no digit can be duplicated in an entry. For example the total 6 you could have 1 & 5, 2 & 4 but not 3 & 3. Sound simple? Be warned it gets hard and is as addictive as Sudoku.

          Details of the program:

Main KaKuro screen. From here the grids can be solved by entering the value of the square directly using the keypad (1-9) or entering all possible values for that square.

There are 100 puzzles spread over 4 difficulty levels: easy, medium, hard and difficult. Not only do the puzzles get harder but the size of the grids get larger!

The user can enter all the possible values for the square in order to solve the grid. Simply press "*" on the keypad to toggle the input mode. Five incomplete grids can be saved and loaded back when required.

Once the user has entered all the squares, the inbuilt solver/checker can be used to check the user's grid and provide feedback. If correct, the user can then move onto the next grid. All incorrect squares will be highlighted.
You say you can Sudoku, but can you KaKuro?
