Author's Description

Get the best of millions of websites and blogs to your cell phone in less than 1 minute a day!

Try FreeNews on your Symbian phone!

FreeNews turns your cell phone into your own personal newspaper, weather station, blog reader, sports announcer, CNN news reader, hometown newspaper, stock tracker, housing price tracker, and hobby news source - all rolled into one.

FreeNews gathers the information you care about from the web and puts it on your mobile device. It works like your Yahoo! or MSN home page, giving you a single view of the information you care about most. With FreeNews, you don't waste time surfing websites with your phone - waiting endlessly for your WAP browser to load pages filled with content you don't care about. You get information you select - always at your fingertips. Wherever your busy schedule takes you, FreeNews will keep you up-to-date with the world and your unique interests in it!

Not a web or WAP browser

FreeNews was designed from the start to be the best way to receive information on your mobile phone. Limited screen sizes and slow data connections make most internet sites unsuitable for mobile phones, and make even WAP pages designed for mobile phones tedious to use. FreeNews is different. When you connect with FreeNews, all your information is sent to your phone at one time in a compressed format.

Easy Navigation

FreeNews is not a web browser - there are no urls to enter or www?s that you need to remember. You select the news sources you want once from your phone or desktop computer and FreeNews then brings (downloads) this information directly to your phone
An elegantly simple interface makes it easy to organize and find what you are looking for

Once "your news" is in your phone you can quickly scan hundreds of articles for only the ones that interest you

View a list of only the headlines of each article
Quickly step through summaries of articles for more information
Want to read the whole article? No problem!

Read the full text of articles directly on your phone

Built in text-only browser allows you to quickly download the entire text of the articles that interest you.
In those situations when you have no signal, you can still browse article summaries. Then mark them for reading later (automatically marked if you attempt a download) - or send an email of the link to yourself.

Share articles with others

Find something that will interest others? FreeNews includes the ability to email article links to friends and colleagues directly from your phone.
You can make emailing articles links easy by setting up short nicknames that correspond to email addresses.
