Following up on the launch in October and the November updates, UIQ has again updated the UIQ3 SDK, which is available for immediate download (Thanks to NewLC for the heads up).
Taking pictures when on the go and then posting to the web is something most people are going to look at. Panasonic looks set to focus its effort around the Linux operating system rather than the Symbian OS. In a recent press release Matsushita announced they would be reorganising global R&D. Via the UIQ Developer website comes news of an opporunity for developers to beta test Carbide.c++. Caribide.c++ is the next generation of Symbian OS development tools and is built on Eclipse, the open-source IDE framework. The UIQ Developer site also provides the opportunity to get everything you need to develop for UIQ 3, inlcuding support from experts via its forum.
Just a quick plug for the Symbian Q and A Knowledgebase, which I've doubled in size and categorised so make things easier to find. It covers common support questions for Series 60, UIQ and Series 80 Symbian smartphones. Hopefully worth bookmarking at the very least!
TomTom have posted a big update (5.20) to their MOBILE 5 navigation system. Main changes are: "Support for more devices; Better support for 3rd party Bluetooth GPS; Increased number of POI categories to 40; Improvements in address search". Full details of how to update to 5.20 are given here
