It's been on the "AAN Rumoured" list for some time, but Nokia and THQ have finally confirmed Worms World Party will be available on MMC Game Card for the N-Gage in November 2004. So stand by for a million "previews" of screenshots from all the other N-Gage sites on the internet, while we'll wait until we actually see a beta copy from Finland.
Nokia are slowly harnessing the diversity of the N-Gage, with the release today of a demo of Pathway to Glory. One download from the Dedicated Website, copy the files to a blank MMC card with at least 16mb of space, and you'llbe able to play a solo mission, and a bluetooth multiplayer mission, for free. Kudos to Nokia to let everyone have a look at this. Expect a full Preview from AAN in the near future. PtG is scheduled to be released in time for Christmas.
I can't wait untill the fourth quarter of 2004 - the number of N-Gage titles to be launched is going to be amazing. THQ and Nokia have announced "World Wrestling Entertainment - Aftershock," what looks to be a beat-em up with bells on. It's got the requisite multiplayer over bluetooth, championship/career modes (with ten fighters to choose from) and a bucket load of dry ice so it can flex it's muscles as it comes out in the stores closer to Christmas.
Vivendo Universal and Nokia have announced the forthcoming availability of Leisure Suit Larry: Pocket Paty developed by TKO Software. The game involves exploring a 3D college campus while solving puzzles and taking place in risque activities. The game is the first for the N-Gage aimed at the adult market. Can Larry Lovage win the heart of Rosie? Only time will tell...
Nokia and Gameloft today announced Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory for the N-Gage platform, expected release is during the first quarter 2005. I hope I like the third of the N-Gage Splinter Cell titles more than the first!
Rusty Axe Games has released a beta demo of a popular game of other handhelds - Colony. The game has 3D isometric graphics and is best described as a strategic puzzle game. Rusty Axe also intend to port the Green Myste to N-Gage another of the games in their portfolio.
Spiderman 2 is now shipping. The movie tie in title suprises the N-Gage world by actually arriving on time. The Webbed Wonder is available on MMC with bluetooth and N-Gage Arena functionality. As usual, UK and International orders can be placed through Allack.
Russ Beattie was invited along to the recently reported San Francisco Focus Group for a Massive Multiplayer N-Gage Game. Which (of course) meant an early look at Pocket Kingdom. What's it like being in a focus group? How do you test an applciation like this? Here's Russ' thoughts...
Redshift announce Dragonfire, an Medieval RPG for Series 60 devices (including the N-Gage range). Transported to another world by a 1.21 gigawatt bolt of lightning, your only way home is by defeating the four evil Gods (what, the Good Gods are busy?) More information and a free trial of the first level can be found at Redshift.
Your N-Gage isn't safe anymore, and neither are any nother Series 60 phones you own. Why is this? A mobile worm. Symb/Cabir-A is a worm written specifically for Nokia Series 60 mobile phones running the Symbian operating system. The worm spreads as a .sis package, named as Caribe.sis. Inside the file are three other files, caribe.app, flo.mdl and caribe.rsc. However there is little danger given the multiple user prompts required to install this virus.
From the dawn of time, Codemasters have been producing quality computer games for all the popular platforms. Now, the Darling Brothers have committed themselves to the Nokia N-Gage with their Colin McRae Rally Franchise due on the phone this Christmas. It shuold feature every N-Gage Bullet point - bluetooth multiplayer, shadow racing via the N-Gage Arena, lots of exciting quotes from Nokia's Marketing people in the press release, and an expected Q4 release date. Let's hope it plays better than Sega Rally does...
Nokia is recruiting N-Gagers to participate in a focus study for a brand new online game. While neither the game title or the developer of the game is yet known, this seems like a big oppurtunity to get involved in the N-Gage community. N-Gagers in San Francisco can participate in testing a new massively multiplayer online game for the N-Gage on Tuesday, June 22nd, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Aside from the chance to play-test a game no one else has yet played, participants will also get cash prizes! San Francisco N-Gagers can email jcrompt@aol.com to sign up. While the rest of us outside of California cannot participate, atleast we know a brand new massively multiplayer online game is on the way!
