TouchWiz homescreen in three parts
The home screen has three separate screen (like virtual desktops) allowing you, in effect, to have three different home screens. You move between them by swiping across the screen.
Dragging widgets
The placement of widgets can be customised by dragging them around the home screen.

Standard S60 menu
The menus and application launchers are the UI elements that most obviously signify this is an S60 device. In other area Samsung have done an excellent job in adding differentiators.
Camera application
The camera application has be touch enabled, and, as with earlier Samsung device, draws, at least in part, on the UI of stand alone Samsung digital camera.

Photo controls
Photo on Omnia HD
Photos look superb on the Omnia HD AMOLED screen. The blacks in this photo particularly stand out because of the excellent contrast ratio.
HD video playback
The screen really stands out in video playback. Pictures do not do it justice.
Extra applications
There's a generous on board software bundle for the Omnia HD.
Notebook / jotter application
This lets you draw on a virtual piece of paper. There's various controls including pen width and colour.
Memos
The memos can either be displayed as a list or, as shown here, as thumbnails. The jotter style application is an obvious application of the touch screen and I'm surprised Nokia has not included something similar ion their S60 5th Edition devices.

Large on screen keyboard
The on screen keyboard does reasonably well on the big screen (mainly because there is plenty of space), but some kind of predictive and/or auto correction software would go a long way to improving the experience.
Text input options
The numeric keypad worked well.
Handwriting recognition.
The capacitive touch screen isn't really suited to handwriting recognition, but the option is there if you want it.

Fingerprints on the Omnia HD
No demo phone escapes fingerprints altogether at an event like MWC, but touch phones are more vulnerable that others, especially if you are receiving the amount of attention that the Omnia HD was.
HD playback
Playing back video recorded on the device.
Asphault 4
This game uses the G-sensor (accelerometer) for steering and works far better than a similar game of the 5800. The graphics and sound effects are also very impressive showing off the OMAP 3 chip set to full affect.
Maps showing POIs
Google Maps also runs well on the Omnia HD.

The LED flash is likely to be a low light for some.
Video playback with controls
It's the standard Real player application.
Grid view task switcher
It's a bit like expose on the Mac. Each open application is shown as a thumbnail.
Route 66 derived sat nav
There's also an integrated compass (magnetometer) in addition to the expected GPS (as shown by the compass indicator in the op right hand corner).
