Summary:
At the Open Studio New York event in 2006 Nokia launched the N95, N75 and a number of Music Edition handsets. The N95 drew most of the attention with its ground breaking feature set: 5 megapixel camera and integrated GPS (including a full mapping solution). It innovated in the form factor department too with its double slider.
These photos were captured at the Open Studio Event.

The N95 vs the E50
A comparison show with the E50 shows off how small the N95 is.
-
N95 Mapping
With an integrated GPS the N95 is a comptent mobile map device. Maps for 100 countries are provided over the air for free.
-
N95 Potrait
With the number keypad closed the phone operates in landscape mode. This is suprisingly effective and gives the device a pad like feel.

The N95
Sure to be a big hit next year. Let's hope the battery life does OK.

Nokia NY Store
Very sureal vibe. Feels enclosed at first (it is a small space), but improves with time.
-
People
Ask what they would call a device with the specs of the N95 on person replied, 'My Life'... even we're not that obsessive.

Nokia is #1
Nokia is the world's biggest MP3 manufacturer. Of course not everyone uses the functionality, but that is something Nokia wants to change.

-
Music Accessories
Nokia also announced a range of accessories including several Bluetooth Stereo headsets (A2DP). These will work with only a limited range of handsets at present. The N95 is the first handset to officially inlcude A2DP from launch. Other accessories include a range of speakers.
-
Music Recommenders
Somewhat against the trend of Web 2.0 and the idea of widsom of the crowds the Nokia Music Recommenders service gets experts from independent music shops to choose their favourite new music. Sounds like a great idea, and the implementation looks solid too.
-
More People
A key point of the presentation was to suggest that the N95 would be attractive to a broader range of people. The uptake of the smartphone in the truest sense (someone who uses it as a smartphone) by the average user has been slow. Nokia want to encourage use by providing services and customisation, improving user experience, and providing great hardware - so that people can get the ultimate device for them. It's then becomes about how the individual can use the device to do what they want to.
