Problems with VICS player and T-Mobile GPRS

Hi

Has anyone been anle to make the VICS video player work with GPRS on T-Mobile? It seems to work over CSD, but when I try and use GPRS it goes to downloading playlist and seems to just sit there.

Oplayer and other apps. seem to work fine but I just can't get this to work.

Thanks

I have never come across the VICS video player, can you shed some light on it please?

Bob

It can be downloaded from www.videocoding.com

From what I can work out it is a player / format for downloading / streaming video content to a mobile (similar to Oplayer I guess).

I believe it can also play live (5 second delay) TV.

It seems to work OK with CSD but I can't make it work with GPRS.

Are you on T-Mobile in the UK?

Then it probably don't work because all the UK networks block UDP paclkets on the GPRS network, UDP is what most video streaming works with - including RealOne on the 3650, it does not actually work!

Oplayo works because they use TCP to stream, that's why their player works..

You could try configuring your GPRS connection to use the web rather than wap - copy your current access point then edit it, change the IP addy to 0.0.0.0 and see if that works, you might be lucky, but I doubt it.
The fact that it works on dialup but not GPRS points to a UDP block.

Best

Yes, I am on T-Mobile in the UK

Have changed the settings to 0.0.0.0 (as per Oplayo) but still nothing. Guess it must be down to the issues you have raised.
