New version of Doris Browser coming!
Hi guys!
A bird whispered in my ear that a new version of Doris Browser is coming soon! The update is free for all registered users...
The most important/cool changes:
Implemented: open URL command (at last!)
- "basic" authentication. Prompts for user name/password, also supports bookmarks: "http://username:password@www.server.com/page.html".
- backlight inactivity period increased from 15 to 60 seconds while Doris Browser is the active application. :-)
- same image multiple times on a page: drawn faster.
- prompts to send the form data when the text writing dialog is closed if there is no submit button in a form.
- "rtsp:" protocol support via external viewer (Emblaze/Real Player/custom path).
- Fixed: a bug causing large image maps not working.
- Implemented: persistent cookies.
- Implemented: delete cookies command.
- Implemented: support for localhost addresses (localhost, 127.0.0.1).
- Implemented: some more ways to recover from bugs and non-standard code in HTML pages.
Looking good!!
-Thomas

The Beta of version 1.15 is available from their site already for quite some time. If the Mods allow it, I can post the link...

Posting links to betas on the Doris developers website is fine.

Thanks Rafe,
Just thought, because I couldn't find an official hyperlink to the SIS file.
Anyway, here it is.
Of course it's the eval version with the well know limitations. But still great improvements!

AEFOX, is it now as fast as Webviewer? With the 3 minute limit I couldn't evaluate Doris properly, but although it has a lot of good features, I found it too slow (when I'm browsing, the most important thing is getting the page loaded quickly).
I agree with the face... although the full screen mode helps there
