FM Transmitter strength
Hey guys,
Changed my product code the other day so I could finally upgrade to V21, my Euro Black code wouldnt let me, errors all the time. However, now i've done it, my FM transmitter has gone really, really weak! I used to be able to leave it near to the radio and it would work great, now I only get a marginally decent sound if I hold it touching(!) the radio!
Anyone know how to amp it up without having to change my code, it's such a handy feature, much quicker and faster then connecting via a bloody cable!

De-branding is unlikely to affect the FM tramsitter power, provided you used the correc 'RM-xxx' firmware model number.
However, when de-branding it is advisable to format both the intermal memory then the mass memory to ensure no incompatibilities or instabilities arrise between the old and new FW user data.
Also, did you use nokia backup before the FW upgrade then restore it? This is well known to cause weird and unexpected issues after the restore. If so, once again format both internal and mass memory.

My FM transmitter has never worked as it should.. the strength is too low and sometimes is not compatible with some receivers! I hope that next FW update fix this and they learn about this for next models like N8!

I only ever used when in the car, and I had different results with different cars. With the previous car, the signal was rubbish and hardly worth using, but with the current car, it worked brilliantly. Never used it with a radio in the house, so can't tell really.

I have only used it in my car and its always been rubbish whichever firmware - I have used individual £10 FM transmitters that have been much better.

works in my golf mk4
i've been using it in my mk4 golf with vw individual mp3 player for a while.
Audio qualithy in 7/10.
Might be able to get better results if i change frequency from the default, never tried to be honest.
It's cool the way the stereo tunes into the 'nokia' rds though.

I have only tried my FM transmitter in my own car, and it was OK.
If you are having problems in almost every situation, you may have a hardware fault.
You should get this looked at under warranty before de-branding FW.
