Hi, everyone. 😊
I recently got my X6 after using my 3220 for quite a while. I was looking around for some information about getting Japanese language support for the X6, but all I found was a thread (http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/forum//forum/thread/84098/) for the Nokia E75/S60 3.2. Seeing as this is my first Symbian phone, I'm not really sure what to do. 😞 Is there anyone that can help me/point me in the right direction?
I looked around a bit more and found this (http://palm.roguelife.org/nokia/jplain.xhtml), but the page was last updated three years ago, and only has instructions for two phones.
I've downloaded about three fonts off that Japanese page so far, and made a 'Fonts' folder under 'Resource' on my phone, and that's as far as I've gotten. Still doesn't work.
Seeing as I mainly just view Japanese or Chinese text on my mobile, I don't really need to have the ability to input Japanese, but if it's possible, that would be really good, too. 😊
EDIT: I downloaded the Psiloc Japanese Reader (http://wap.psiloc.com/en/Application,262309,Psiloc+Japanese+Reader,UserGuide) for the X6. When installing, it says that the app isn't supported by the phone, but I installed it anyway. I can read Japanese text on my phone now. Kanji text is fine, but the hiragana and katakana is smaller and a bit hard to read. You won't be able to resize the fonts because there isn't a left/right key on the X6 (volume rocker doesn't work for it), but it's still good. It's also a free download. 😃
