I have searching through the forums for the 7650 and im a bit confused.
I just bought the phone yesterday.
1)what is a MP4 player??does it play mp3s?
2)how will i upload a .mid file from my PC to my mobile (or a backround)?
anything that i need to know about the phone?I dont know anything about it really 😞
Hello, welcome to the 7650 family. Having just got the phone I'm sure you are learning new stuff each day. I've had mine since last november and I'm still picking things up now! Once you get used to it you'll enjoy it and being a Nokia it's easy to use.
1. An MP4 player is to view video files created using the 7650 video software available from various places. The newer format is now 3ggp, but older versions created MP4.
These are different from MP3'3, but you can get a player for those to if you so wish.
2.If you have infrared use the nokia suite that came with the phone to upload files etc. or just invoke the infrared on the phone and right click on any file and send "To Near By Computer" in the send to dialogue options.
If you have no infrared you will need to setup an email client for the phone and email any software, pics, sounds to your phone.
Either way is effective although the infrared option is best as you don't pay anything call wise.

No, it plays mpeg4 encoded video. So its a video player.

Just send (right click on file, select send>Bluetooth) the file via Bluetooth or IR. It arrives to the phone as a message.

thx guys for your help, i dont have an infrared, i have only the CD that came with the phone (i guess that PC suite).
What are the prices for infrared? I found some for �30, is this normal?
what about the MP3 player? Is it possible to install it somehow?Where can i download it from?
You can get BT for 35, so I think that 30 for IR is a bit too much. (Get BT)

first i have to decide whether to buy a bluetooth or an infra red.
i have found the following, d they work with 7650?
Bluetooth is the choice. It's faster transfer rate and can go up to 10m with on line of sight.

You should be able to use Bluetooth without unlocking your phone. As far as unlocking phone is concerned it is illegal in most places. Definately illegal in the UK where this board is based, so all threads about it is not allowed here.
Just ordered one of the BT dongles myself, should get it by thursday, i'll let the forum know how I get on.
If I get any problems I know there are lots of thready that will help!!!
