I can't tell you how well it protects it from dropping it though, as i've not done that yet.

I had both of those covers.
I found the top one quite tight but I am sure would loosen with use.
The bottom one I preferred but it didn't last long. After only about a month it fell to pieces and I didn't drop it.

It's an OK/Good slip case, I have run into problem with it as it is quite tight (as has been commented on here and much at mobilefun) and isn't working out that well for me at the moment as I have fitted Invisible Shield which is slightly tacky/grippy and have trouble getting phone back out of case - like lots .
So busy trying to stretch it with my glasses case at moment as quite like it but really like the Invisible Shield and would like to be able to use both. Anyone similar experience?

I use that case, and agree it's slightly too tight - it's turned into more of a pain than it's worth as sometimes it can take a fair two handed effort to get the thing out!
I've turned to only using the case in situations where I think the phone may get damaged - when it's in my bag with other items or if I'm doing something rough at work, day to day I think the phone's fine so long as you have a screen protector on there.
