Iplayer through TV
using the N95 tv out cable, i can watch streaming iplayer shows over 3g on the tv with no problem, but when i try to watch shows which i have downloaded over wifi to watch later they won't play on the tv.
I just get a blue box with a cross in it. I can hear the shows, i just can't watch them.
Is there any way to watch these shows on a big tv?

don't know about using the phone, but iplayer is now on the wii if you have one. Much easier.

I'm not able to watch Iplayer over 3g, it always tells me I must watch over wifi. How do you do it?
But sorry, that doesn't really answer your question! Could the blue box be something to do with a licence?

I think it's only 3 and Vodafone who can use iplayer over 3g.
And yes, you can't watch iplayer downloads on tv-out because of the DRM in the file (the same DRM that stops the file playing after 7 days)

No this was a show i had downloaded about 2 hours before i wanted to watch it.
It plays fine on the phone. but like i said not on tv.
Ps, i don't have a Wii in the location that i want to watch it.

This is (sadly) the answer to your question.
Doesn't matter whether it's 5 minutes, 2 hours or 6 1/2 days old, the DRM stops it going down the TV-out lead :(
A bit annoying, but apart from when iPlayer is down (twice in the past few months), I've simply streamed the program via WiFi, keeping the phone plugged into the mains as the battery drain can be quite severe on my N97.

If any of you have a Mac, there is a wonderful app called iplayer downloader that solves all these problems :-)
EDIT: Oh, can you play .mov files on S60? If not, sorry, won't help.

Yes, but this was so i could watch stuff where i had no wifi connection.
Seems silly that i can stream the same show to the tv over 3g, but can't watch it via tv out.

I think they do it so that you can't plug your TV-Out into any type of recorder and record the BBC programs to watch whenever you want, instead of the 7 days they allow.

But i would have thought you can do that whilst it's streaming.
