What kind of WAV are you using?
I use cooledit pro to convert my tones to wav. There seems to be lots kinds of wav but only two work and the othere one goes onand off.
Windows PCM wav : This is the one the works normally but the file is huge! and right now if you read my other post I can organize them on the memstick, I get and error when I move them. But I do have another kind of wav(below)
A/MU-LAW Wave: I have one tone that uses this and you can move it around but when you are on the phone the file seems to dissapear sometimes, like it cant be read or something.
Is this a memstick problem? Or this this a file problem?

Are they saving anything over PCM format though?, as they seem to be roughly the same size to me.

BTW: Just checked, you can convert to GSM 6.10 using Windows Sound Recorder and it seems to work fine on the P800

I just took the 50 cent -in da club GSM wav file that i made and converted it from the GSM format to PCM 8 bit mono. This bloated the file from 390kb to 1,920kb. So yes there is a considerable space saving in using the GSM codec over PCM.

But the quality is lower too and with our speaker boosting up the sound it really doesnt sound that good anymore :( I use ADPCM its albit bigger but it sounds better, still smaller than the usual wavs

Anyone know the reson behind not being able to use mp3's as ringtones. This would sure save a lot of messing about.

It's because you can only use sound formats handled by media server plug-ins as ring tones, and the mp3-playing code is not made in that form.
