N97 Firmware - A Somerset Rant

Where be that firmware to?
I know where 'e be!
'e be in yon Nokia bush, And I be after 'e!
And 'e sees I, And I sees 'e, And 'e knows I be after 'e,
With a ruddy girt stick, I'll clobber 'e
Firmware! I'll 'ave 'e !

That is all...

[Thanks to the Wurzels for drinkin zider & singing silly songs - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zbtAxQdZcU

Mind you, location-wise you're almost a yokel yourself so you probably understood it all

That's true Dave.

When I read your post I thought your ditty may well be lost on the majority of members. (you may want to update your YouTube link).

I've actually seen the Wurzels live and they were funny.

As they say, down this way... "Ow be'est ol butt"?

Since I've managed to ammuse at least one person, here's the full version (as made up by me, just now): -

[Chorus]
Where be that firmware to?
I know where 'e be!
'e be in yon Nokia bush, And I be after 'e!
And 'e sees I, And I sees 'e, And 'e knows I be after 'e,
With a ruddy girt stick, I'll clobber 'e
Firmware! I'll 'ave 'e !
La la la la la la
La la la la la la
'Ow's 'E Fadder?
(Audience Answer) Allright!

All me life I'm on the 'net,
Workin' for me keep
Tendin' twitter tweets and blogs,
And they facebook peeps
And then while I'm workin',
there's one who always mocks me
He sittin up 'dere in Finland,
firmware I'll 'ave thee!

Chorus

Underneath the open source
t'Forum loves to whine.
We likes to 'ear the flappin'
of the Nokia party line
We listens to a tuneful song,
a load of Nokia sh*t,
But on me longed for N97
they scored a direct hit!

Chorus

If I goes out driving',
a creepin' through the fields,
With Ovi Maps 3.0 beta,
a followin' at me heels.
If I aim me trusty car at a turning on the way
That bloody firmware starts his row
and goes the wrong bloody way!

Chorus

No longer can I sleep at night,
get peace of any kind,
That firmware'll be the death of me,
he's prayin' on me mind!
If I chase him long enough,
I'll get 'en by and by,
And celebrate me vict'ry
wit a girt big firmware pie!

Chorus

When I say "made up", I mean "heavily modified blackbird, byt he wurzels)

I can't wait for your versions of "Rock around the A38", not to mention, "I am a cider drinker" as well as my favourite "Combine Harvester".

In perfect harmony

An' you got a scratched lens
Now I got a brand new Nokia N97

For what it's worth was taking mine back for Cam and GPS repair to Regent St Flagship Store yesterday (Mon 19th) and was told by one of the trendy mothership minions (before they told me couldn't take my phone because they're not set up to take non-UK N97's and to go to CPW - I thought they were meant to be a multinational hahahahaha) that V20 which would fix all my problems (yeah right) would be out within a week. So mebbe just mebbe it is imminent which ties in of course with N97-mini launch. And then we can all figure out that it hasn't really helped and it's still a heap of poo

The wait... or the cider?

10 days until the end of October... if it slips into November we'll know they have BIG problems.
