Smile E71 Wireless Keyboard Layout

Hi guys,

I've looked a bit around to see if I could find anything relevant - but might just be me being either dumb and tired - or going blind after searching so long on alot of different sites and so on.

My problem is that I recently bought an apple bluetooth keyboard (was actually the cheapest, at around 25euros - that's like a gazillion dollars nowadays). And linking them up and getting it working isn't really an issue - my problem is that I am from Denmark - and I've bought the keyboard to be able to take notes in class (using the letter æ, ø and å - silly as it is, we have those) - but I can't seem to change the layout no matter what I do.

I've updated the phones software, I've updated the wireless keyboard controller - but it still has the same issue, as soon as I try to enter the settings in this one - if connected - it just closes the program. And if I try to enter the settings whilst it's not connected, I hardly have any options.

I can write the letters from the phones keyboard via a shortcut - placed on p - and the other two letters are standalone next to m.

It's an american setup for the keyboard - it seems - but I'd really love to change it. Thus far whenever I'm taking notes I have to revise them afterwards, replace `]; with the corresponding letters on my pc.

It would be great if anyone could help me out

Thanks a bundle in advance.

Hey there

I’ve had similar wireless keyboard issues in the past – I have an American keyboard but I want to use a British layout. What worked for me was re-pairing the device and setting the keyboard layout at the first pairing; I’ve done this twice now and it has worked just great.

Good luck with it!

I've had no luck with it so far :(
Called Nokia - and they were, although willing to help, rather oblivious to the matter.
But what I do is - when I try to follow your instructions;
- Remove the keyboard from my bluetooth shortlist
- Start the Wireless Keyboard application and search for the keyboard
- Sync up the keyboard and the phone
- And try to launch the settings after they've synced - but the application closes immediately.

:(

Am I doing it wrong?

No, I don't think so... Sorry, I'm stuck, short of offering the "have you tried another handset / keyboard?" and that isn't very helpful...

Sorry!

Thumbs down Apple Wireless Keyboard NO ACCENTS on N95

Hi there!

Im making a universal appeal!
I also bought the apple wireless keyboard for my N95 but I cant use any special characters like "é, á, ê, â, ñ, î, í, ô, ç" etc.. to write in Portuguese.
Im sure a lot of people around the world have the same problem in their own languages.
I made an exhaustive research on the internet to find any kind of solution but zero answer.
I've been using the keyboard so far and its a fantastic experience to use it for make notes in a classroom for example.
The only problem is the accents. With that it would be just perfect!
So please if you know any answer to that issue let me know.

Cheers,
Adriano
