Improvements 2 SE P800

I'am sure that it's been talked about before, but the issue of more improvements to the handheld device must be Question again .

My Personal Improvements to the phone are:-
1- A much long lasting battery.
2- Internal Mem should be @least 44MB, I know it's too much but lets be fair , a Video player and an Audio player put together in a mem of 12MB.
3- Camera should have the feature of zooming in and out and the Pics can be saved in 2 formats JPEG for more picture resolution and GIF for saving less memory.
4- A screen prof for scraches from stylus.
5- The speaker should be @ the top of the phone so the it doesn't make that horriable viberating sound.

well that's all i could think of maybe some of you would like to chip in and give your own wiled ideas for making this phone much more fun.

More Improvements

it would be good to have:

1) a better Display Screen that's not too pixelized or dull detailed - 7650 seems to have a better one.

2) Video+Audio capture through the digital camera with high MPEG4 codec.

T9? No need

With just a little practice using the stylus the need for T9 is negated - you can easily batter out text at high speed once you get even a little proficient

Integrated Opera

Integrated File Manager

Integrated Task Manager

Exit facilites on the fundamental apps

ability to select and delete multiple contacts

Full screen picture viewer with zoom facility

Larger Memory Stick Duos ( this would overcome the internal mem problem )

Office type apps like the Psion 5 mx programs

Shortcut to last number dialled (probably just havn't found it yet)

Not so keen on harware upgrades as I have just shelled out on
a P800!

It's amazing how SE can keep coming up with value added upgrades, to both OS, UIQ, etc but just CAN'T come up with a T9 upgrade. Is T9 really that much more expensive than everything else?

Color Coded Calendar View & Category Carry-over from Out

It would be nice to have color coded items (similary to the month view in Outlook 2002) on the P800. That way, you could quickly some up personal/business/etc appointments by color.

Also, currently categories are lost when making a transfer of contacts, calendar items, tasks etc. Take a good look at Microsoft's Activesync software- that's a good place to start.

Also, sketches in the notepad in outlook do not show up on the p800.

I see many of us SE users want the T9 feature, of course it's a good feature for wirtting quickly and correctly.

thats maybe our internal problem, but what about our external problem(hardware), the speaker fo instants the sound quality is very poor when it comes to a loud bass Wav ringtone there is always this annoying sound.

what more internal problems and external problems that we need to solve ?

Hi,

I think it all depends on what you were used to (and what you're comparing to) before. I used to have an Sl45i and the P800 kicks dust in its face!

I find the speaker to be brilliant and calls are clear and crisp. As for T9 then I doubt I would use it as I use the jot function to write SMS's. What I would like is word suggestion though.

It's all a case of 'Different courses for different horses'.

Z.

My previous phone was N7650 and SE P800 is more powerful than N7650
am not here to comparing the phones but here to improve the little things that makes the phone more catchy and well not perfect but we make it perfect by putting together the problems to solve it more thoroughly.

Re: Improvements 2 SE P800

My Wishes:

Keep the last app running when I close the P800! Wenn I reopen it, I want to see the same website, the same doc the same date in the calendar and the same contact that I had before closing.
The P800 is a very good phone but a bad PDA. Every time I close it, the P800 assumes that I finished my work. That's not the case motes the time.

LAN Access with Bluetooth. I want to use my BT-Accesspoint (or my PC) to access the internet. No Chance !

Better search functions:
Search across ALL(!) Data soures - not only one.
Selection of a contakt by typing the first letters. That work with closed tab but they have forgotten to implement ist in open mode.

The Scrollwheel works fine in closes mode but not in open mode (I miss the "close" funktion. Instead I switch the apps. Thats not helpfull.
[/list]

You can do this with Opera already.
