N97 Freeware Collection - The Widget
Right. I've written a widgetty interface to my N97 freeware site.
And in a stroke of sarcasm, I've named it Davi...
You can view all the freeware in a list, with rating and tags, then click through for details and a download link.
You can get it from www.davecozens.com/n97/Davi.wgz
Coming later - search...
Feedback appreciated...

Thanks Dave - I love your site (as others have said before, I go there before OVI) and this widget makes it even more accessible.
One minor improvement for me on the widget would be to have 'Next' and 'Previous' buttons replicated at the bottom of the page rather than having to scroll back up to the top each time.
Keep up the good work!

Tut tut tut - thread bumping Maybe the admin will let you off this time.
I'm going to check this client out later and provide some more constructive feedback - but good work - great to see this sort of thing. And the name made me smile

Had a quick play - worked fine for me.
Might be nice if you used the softkeys (especially a back on the item view page), but not really fair to comment on style etc as this is a first version.
Nokia have a mobile template on Forum Nokia that can make things look nice wrt to mobile sites and widgets. Might be worth a look?
From a technical view point I like the fact you preloaded all the data.

i quite like the design there so i might make a few channges, but having worked with the wrt api i'm reluctant to work with any nokia javascript library.
The precache does make it very fast doesn't it...

Fair enough on Nokia stuff. If you want to take a look its here. I used them on ovigaming.mobi.
The design works well as it is, though I find the margin round the outside slightly out-of place.
And yes pre-cache nice. Doesn't scale, but I dont suppose the catalog will ever be that vast (certainly was quick enough over WiFi).

if it ever becomes an issue you can do a partial cache, render and then silently cache the rest...
