[E51] music library
Hello guys
First of all, sorry for my bad English. But I have a question regarding my Nokia e51: Some time ago, I bought a 8 GB microSD card to use my phone as a MP3-player. I have a huge music library with ~ 7 GB music and I put it on my Nokia. So far so good.
But some days later, I put ~500 Mb of further music on it and now my music library is broken - it doesn't show any music titles, albums or other stuff at all... And now my question: How can I fix it? When I'm using a different player (the one from mystrands) - it works as if nothing had happened....
Or have you got an idea, which other music player I could use? (but it has to have a function for last.fm).
Thank you in advise,
walle

Backup
Did you try to Restore the Phone settings from a Backup ? PC or Card-Backup ?
When you didn't do this : Menu > Instruments > (Card) Memory > Options > Make Backup / Restore from Backup . Wish you did !
Are the files visible in : Office > FileManager ?

Hi there,
Follow this proceedure to fix your music library database:
1) Save all of your music to your PC's hard drive.
2) Delete all music from your memory card.
3) Insert memory card into your E51
4) Run the Music player.
5) Eject your memory card and connect to your PC.
6) Copy all of your music back to your memory card.
7) Insert memory card back into E51.
8) Run Music application and wait for it to scan all of your music files.
This procedure should force your E51 to wipe all old entries from its music database and create a new set of entries. I've used this procedure myself many times.

It's not that bad, and I know of no other solution. This is a straight forward way to refresh your library.
Just wait until you'll be watching something on TV or having a meal. The files will have copied back to your card by the time you're back.

I had the phone not find my music the other day. It said the microSD was corrupt. I told the phone to shut the card down, I then ejected and reinserted the card. The phone re-read the card and all my music was there. I can only assume there was a corruption in the cached directory structure (I assume there is a cache of some sort).
Regards
