The popular proxy-based, media-friendly (and free) browser, Skyfire, has just had a significant update, to v1.0.0.12114, adding a reduced memory footprint and a long list of bug fixes (detailed below). You can upgrade by going to http://get.skyfire.com on your S60 3rd Edition phone. There's still no S60 5th Edition version, sadly.

GRRRR FRUSTRATION!!!!
skyfire!! YOU SAID in the video interview 5th ed support is coming VERY SOON!!!!! WHATS VERY SOON? ONE YEAR!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Rubbish!!! Caused my phone to restart 2 times.
I find Skyfire very handy for web sites where you don't want to be stuck with the mobile site (eg Ebay).
From a quick test the new method of entering text in text boxes seems to be much slower, the page seems to refresh every time you click in a text box and you have to wait ages until it has finished refreshing before you can type anything. Think I preferred it as it was before. In fact it might make Skyfire unusable for me. Is it possible to go back to the old version?
Won't save bookmarks or history *GRRR*
The old file has 879Kb , it exceeds the limitations of this Forum . Otherwise I could upload it ?

Very interesting release. It works much smoother than I expected. Of course it matters how fast connection you have.
What about the support for E90 internal display? have not tried it yet...
No, it doesn't work on the E90. In fact, when you switch to the inside, Skyfire loses connections and you have to exit. So it's worse than it was! Funny, since the the installer correctly identifies that you have an E90, so someone must have thought about it
