Nokia 5800 - Memory full by reading Applications folder

Hi,

Since a couple of day, I always have this message "Memory full" ("Mémoire pleine" in french) when I go to Applications folder and I go back to the home screen.

Is there a limit to the number of items in a folder?
If so what is that limit?

Question : Can I move programs that are in your Applications folder in another folder that I created ?

If it's possible what happens after for the updates for these programs?
Is that the new directory will be taken into account or the update will be installed in the default?
Do I have to have a risk of duplication?

Thanks for your responses.

I think it's more likely that most of your installed APPS have been placed in 'Internal Memory', also known as 'Dynamic' memory which is shared with the S60 OS and RAM.

I would suggest you re-install all your apps (SIS SISX and JAR files) and this time, wherever possible, select 'Memory Card' as the storage location.

You can also possibly free up some internal memory by launching the Nokia WEB app and clearing the browser cache.

If you have Google Maps installed, performing a 'Reset Google Maps' option also clears it's own cache.

Ensure the Camera is configured to save pics and videos to the Memory Card.

Use PC Suite File Manager to ensure that there are no pics, videos or music files stored in internal memory - if so, copy them to the same folders on the Memory Card.

Hope this helps.

ThieRy> the most of my softwares are installed on memory card except Quickoffice, Adobe reader LE, Profimail and themes that I used.

ThieRy> I have 24,5 Mo for internal memory, 54,3 Mo for RAM and 995 Mo for memory card (Handy Shell informations). So enough to execute software without displaying "memory full" message.

ThieRy> Done

ThieRy> I'll watch that.

I also use Profimail but I would never install that to internal memory.
Emails, especially HTML ones quickly eat up losts of storage space.

I have @ 50MB free RAM. 24MB seems very low to me.

Honestly, I recomment uninstalling Profimail then re-installing to memory card.

I get this regularly when SMSs are queued incoming. Just power the phone off and on and all will be well.
