Im having trouble running this application, I was able to use it in compatibility mode on Windows 7 Beta, but since RC I cannot run the application no matter what compatibility mode I choose.
once doubled the icon, the startup splash screen appears for abou 1 minute, then get a message saying
" Missing Software components
Critical Software components are missing.
Please reinstall "
Iv reinstalled 5 times, but still get this exact same error/pause.
Any suggestions?

Different NSU issues on my laptop, but also I cannot get the Phoenix Service Suite to install at all on W7RC.
When I tried to flash my 5800 on W7RC (on my laptop), NSU downloaded the firmware files OK but then repeatedly informed me my handset had lost connection, please retry.
In the end I simply ran NSU again on my desktop PC (Vista SP1) and the firmware upgrade completed OK.
I guess you will just have to wait until Nokia makes NSU fully compatible with W7RC , or alternatively perform an OTA firmware upgrade if your 5800 can connect directly to your broadband router.
Trying what I can think of to get it working on RC, as its a freebe, spose the least I can do as a tester is to give feedback on this to M$, more importantly it will help others facing similiar problems and more likely help once retail is out...
Just tried uninstalling Connectivity cable driver, and software updater,
Downloaded both of them seperately from Nokia site,
Nokia Connectivity cable driver, right click, compatibility, changed to "previous version" and isntalled.
Nokia Software updater, changed to compatibility "Vista SP1" and installed,
Same error ;(
<< Goes to find a spare laptop with vista isntalled...
I've been getting the same error on Vista for the last two releases of the Software Updater.
Driving me mental.
Any ideas folks ?

I have the latest NSU rinning fine on Vista (Ultimate).
You need to disable your firewall when using NSU or NSU locks up.
Right click on the shortcut.click compatibility pane.check box run this program in compatability mode for .....win xp sp2.hope this helps:icon14:

Did this actually work for you on Windows 7? For me (on W7-RC), NSU still locked up after downloading the FW files - buy fortunately no harm done to my phone.

ya it did.do the same thing to the installation file and install againg should fix it.hope it works for you😉
