Nokia release the E52

Hot off the press is Nokia's new E52, with video embedded below. The E52 can be thought of as an update to the popular E51, with S60 3rd Edition FP2, GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera, Ovi, Nokia Messaging, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB charging and more.

Read on in the full article.

Yeah, but I didn't think there was any point in saying that because noone's even handled the mythical E55.... 8-)

Looks lovely Hopefully it will reach Sweden since E55 won't.

Although I do wish it was a bit thicker so a better camera and xenon flash would fit, hopefully we will see a relatively small candybar device with that in the N-series in a not too distant future. N82 is getting old.

looks like a nice phone!

Not sure why it has taken so long since say the n95 to produce this phone?

I wonder what the SARS rating will be on this phone - the last slim candy bar e-series phone has a very high rating.

Angry

Been waiting for the E55 to get launched for 4 months now this! No question, much prefer a standard keypad but now looks like I'll have to wait until the end of the year to get my hands on this one. Don't know whether to go *GRRR* or *SOB*. Why do Nokia always have to give such massive lead times between announcing a new phone and actually launching it? To me it just means people keep putting off their purchase as whilst they're waiting for one phone to be launched, in the meantime they announce another one's on the way (6 months down the line of course).

I suspect I'll be getting this to go with my new iphone if the camera is ok

It'll take them both to replace my N95.

A potential bestseller

This device has the potential to be a huge hit not only with the corporate sector but across the mainstream market. Like the rest of the e series its build quality and robust feature set should guarantee success. There are many like me, I imagine, who simply could not get on with the kexpad on the otherwise appealing E71 and the E52 is an ideal alternative. As a very happy E51 owner I am sure this device will prove a solid option. It also shows that e and n series are gradually converging.

Is there enough demand to justify the existence of both the E52 and the E55? Or will the E55 be silently dropped?

Yeah, the Pin Ball Wizard is having his new house lit exclusively using the latest in Xenon technology, his daughter has been renamed Xenona etc.

We love you really Steve.

The design looks gorgeous.

On the video at 0:42, what is that beside the 3.5mm jack? A 1200-ish flash light or something?
