5800 switching off randomly
Anyone else had their 5800 switch off randomly? Mine's done it four or five times recently.
I've got the feeling it's a dodgy battery connection, as if you shake or jolt the phone it'll sometimes do it.
The battery it doesn't seem to be loose at all, and I've tried re-seating it, but it makes no difference.
I'm thinking of taking the phone to an O2 shop to get it looked at this week.

Mine did that and went back to Nokia. Came back wiped and with the new firmware (before it was available via NSU) and has been fine since. :fingerscrossed

i haven't had that one but i had a problem that my phone wouldn't turn on. It would work ok but if you turned it off it wouldn't switch back on for 4 or 5 hours. It's currently back with nokia.

Thanks for the replies.
Tulloch, how long did it take to get fixed, and did you remove the memory card before sending it back?
I'm thinking I might as well delete all the contacts, etc. if it has to go in for repair.
[edit] I've worked out what's going wrong - there's a bit of play in the battery, where it can move ever so slightly left/right. The battery contacts seem a bit dodgy so if the battery moves slightly they break connection and it turns off. I confirmed it by taking the back off and moving the battery with my finger.
I've kludged it temporarily by inserting a slip of paper down the side of the battery to stop it moving.
I'm hoping it can be fixed by a simple battery replacement.

Sounds like a different problem but to answer you anyway: It took 11 days to get it back and I did keep the memory card.
