Software Update
Hi!
I have used the newest PC Studio from Samsung and checked my I8510 for available updates but got every time the message that the phone is not supported already.
How you got this update?
Thanks,
Jorry!

I have it already installed. Maybe this update is only available for the HH7 firmware version because I have a HHa firmware version on my phone.

I downloaded the Samsung Studio, plugged the phone, clicked the Phone Software Update, it communicated with some updating central and said I had the latest Firmware (HI1) but recommended I reloaded it, so I did. It is very slow, even if you have 16 mega connection like me, so I left it updating and went to sleep... This morning it was over, everything was still in the phone, so I tried the PSU again and it said I had the latest update, no need for anything...
Well, what I can say isthat the phone is a lot faster than it already was, bluetooth is working better and the video and sound are synched, but I think they always were. Letīs see about the battery. Peace.

Keep the news on this coming guys - we'll post it on the front page of the site as soon as someone can confirm the update works.

Installed too.
However, be warned. I have spoken to Samsung about it and they know nothing about it. So i guess they have released the software and not told the customer service agents! They are coming back to me on Monday with answers regarding what exactly they have done. Im hoping it sorts out the contacts issue (disappearing) after using bluetooth. Tested a few moments ago and seems ok now. However, it does not seem any faster.
One strange thing though. Once installed the software updating does not work anymore!

Could that be because the software reverts to "phone not supported" instead of "no update available"?

As soon as my phone fails, this happens.
Typical.

This is my second attempt at running the update. On the updater it indicates that the update process can take a long time, anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes? It took much longer than that just to load the update files!
My first attempt eventually downloaded the update and I guess it must have started to upload the update to my phone but after 27% it just hang there for over 1 hour doing nothing. The screen on my phone was flashing red with the words "ALL DOWNLOAD" written in bold white letters.
I had to disconnect my phone because I had to use it and hoped that it was not corrupted. It seemed to work fine and showed the initial firmware.
I am trying to see if the update will work again and will keep you posted on the results. So far its been 'loading the update files' for about 15 minutes and is only at 12%
