Again we see the politics flaring up...
This is obviously because SE think of videorecording as something slated for the 3G market and hence as to not ruin their chances to sell 3G phones and most importantly 3G networks they do not endorse the use of the camera in the P800 for film making although it's highly capable.
I'd even go so far as to say SE most probably will take legal action against anyone who manage to develop a film capturing aplication for the P800 device.
Folks, we'll have to live with this.
This is the modern way of marketing, essentially the larger companies control the supply and hence they release things in such a way that they'll create a demand.
Gone are the days when consumer input actually meant something.

This is bad news indeed. I was hoping against hope that SE would somehow see the light and allow the development of this useful program. Its a shame indeed to see such a good product get beaten just because they wouldnt allow it :(

this is why
this is the reason why I'm not buying the p800.... if they do ever allow video recording on the p800 then i'll consider it again unless something better comes out..... I have the 3650 for now the video recording is great for keeping on the spot moment and memories...

If video capturing is your most important use of phone, than you really don't need P800 and can stick happilly to (yuck) Nokia.

It's rumoured ...
That the P800's released on the Orange network in the UK will have a video recording app included in the package. Apparently this is one of the reasons that the UK release has been held up ...
I would imagine that this kind of app would boost network revenue due to increased use of MMS, etc ...
If this rumour is true, the application will be available to all other P800 users as a download ...
Here's hoping !

lol man i will never understand why people will attatch themselves to brand names or products - to each their own i say and if ur happy with what you got who cares what someone else thinks! i will buy a p800 cos it looks stylish! has the touch screen interface and i can use it as an organiser!
i would have got a 3650 if it wasnt for the size of it - its bigger than the 7650! but its not that bad a phone!
its aimed more at the consumer market whilst the p800 is more ur business type phone
