30 hours gone by since i recharged my phone with 3½ hours of music playback, around 30 minutes of talking and some texting - Still 3 bars left. Best battery life i've ever had on a cell phone with this many features.
My N95 was horrible back in the day - N95 8gb was abit better giving me a day's worth of battery (with ~2 hours of music playback) - My N82 gave me around a day and a half including a couple of hours music playback.
Whether it was the removal of garmin, or the removal of the screencapture app i dont know, but then again, i dont know what the hell the screencapture app does, so i couldnt care less
Thanks guys, for all your hard work. Best phone i've owned to date.
Update: down to 2 bars after 31 hours, 4½ hours music playback and 30 minutes of talking. R0x!

Well, with screencapture turned ON the phone lasted me some 80 hours again.... I'll try turning back on video sharing, see if that drains the battery then.

i emailed samsung to ask for replacement battery and this is their reply -
With regards to your email, before looking at a replacement battery i
would advise you to attempt a recondition of your battery. To do this
you need to run the battery out until the phone turns off,and turn the
phone on until you are unable to do so anymore. Once this is done, then
you need to charge the phone whilst off for a full 14 hours un
disturbed. You should see improvement in the life of the battery,
however if not then please call or email us with a view to organising a
replacement battery or repair of the hanset.

Wow, that was like... going back to the early day of mobile phones' batteries.
I remember when I got my NK 3350, this was what the seller told me to do. lol
Still, I think it is unlikely that this method will work on the i8510.

right i unstalled Garmin, killed screen capture, and fully charged phone and saw improvements straight away, done this now for the last two weeks, with very little use of the phone and seen battery life last 3 to 5 days before needing a recharge, re installed Garmin and not even used it yet and got up to a flat battery (2 bars) so now Garmin removed i will see how things go now its 4.50pm battery @ 100% lets see how long before 100% flat :S
