reoute66 transfering maps from pc to phone

i've read the sticky about putting maps on the phone via the route66 online store but how do you do it when you have the map (as a file) on your pc ?.Z folder were route66 install is can only be accessed with Y-browser and there is no MAPS folder within route66 program that came installed in "Z".
ive tried making a folder on the memory stick and phone memory then copy/paste into "Z" but it wont allow it .
so if you wanna update any map you have to purchase direct from WLAN or WAP and download from route66 store to the phone ?.

if anyone's got the time try to copy any file/folder from mass or memory card to Z folder , ,you cant !.

im quite amazed that no one has an answer for my question.

basically when the phone arrives there are no maps on "route66" , the only way i can see how to add maps is by either purchasing a cd 59.99euro or by ordering through the phone WLAN or WAP 49.99euro .

i have downloaded "route66" the program but there is no way to add my maps to my phone and its not through the lack of trying.

so lets put my question anther way;- how has everyone gone on with using any make/version SATNAV for the i8510 ? which one are you using and how ?.

my "route66" wont even "get position" it just keeps searching and searching with an "X" at the side of "get postion" .is this because i need the maps first or something ?.
bit of a swizz me thinks they give you a program but the thing wont work to you buy wildly over inflated prices for their maps.

i just made a map folder in main route66 folder and dragged maps over, but couldn't use cause didn't have unlock code, so i decided to try on the 14 day trail and it downloaded the maps again from the store this time, took about 20 mins over WLAN and i just guess it overrided the maps i dragged over

there is no link, just go to buy the maps via your phone and it should offer you a 14 day trail

Route 66 Sync

I managed to get the maps working great by downloading the Route 66 Sync app from their website. Make sure the phone is connected in 'Mass Storage' mode via USB to your PC and start the app. Allows you to download & purchase (or try for 14 days) the maps and other data.

I did the tutorial on here on how to get it to save to your mass memory rather than the phone memory first but whether that made a difference or not I don't know. I certainly could not download straight to my phone before I did that as I was getting the 'not enough memory' error.

Hope this helps
