Nokia launches Comes with Music

Today, in London, at its Remix event, Nokia formally launched its Comes with Music service offering. Comes with Music (CwM) lets you buy a Nokia device that includes a year of unlimited access (downloads) to tracks from the Nokia Music Store. After the year is up you can keep any previously downloaded music. CwM will launch first in the UK later this month on the Nokia 5310 Xpress Music, with the Nokia N95 8GB and Nokia 5800 Xpress Music to follow in due course. Read on for more details.

Read on in the full article.

I have probably missed this but is it possible to buy a "Didn't come with music" upgrade? Obviously my brand new N96 didn't come with music but would be great to be able to buy the facility separately.

Anyone know?

From the key points listed above:

> At this time the Comes with Music service will only be available with new device purchases.

So not yet. Maybe some time in the future?

I seem to remember the changelogs for the recent firmware updates on the N95 and N95 8GB included the ability to add Comes With Music.

That does sort of imply that they can add it to existing phones, though it may be a marketing decision on Nokia's part whether they officially allow this.

They'd be crackers not to allow it though, if people are willing to pay the extra for your product why not let them do it?
