Win a Nokia 6210 with the Mapsters

A quick pointer to a little web-based game from Nokia's Maps team, over on their 'Mapsters' mini-site. You are asked to pinpoint cities on a world map against the clock, with prizes of Nokia 6210s and navigation licenses.

Read on in the full article.

Tried it a few times and got in the 120,000 - 135,000 range. No chance of winning then, cause number one got 263,600

That's pretty impressive I think the lowest I got was around 49km or so. Very rarely above 300km, tho.

You get 25,000 points if you're 0km out. The time bonus is smaller, typically 1000 after 4 seconds. So it's more important to be accurate. I might try playing on a lower-resolution monitor later, as the Flash widget only fills up half of my screen

This promotion sounds fishy, I should be in the high scores, but I'm not

the page mentions 50 prizes/week but the rules say 40 prizes total

and it is just one 6210? The could afford a couple more, one a week maybe :P

Went much better when I didn't rush thru the thing Got 210,200 now. Still haven't had any 0km scores, though. Bloody hard to pin them down, even though I know where they are. Still just get 49-110km.

Yeah, I'm not there either. I'm guessing that the high-score list doesn't update very often. Maybe just once a day or so.

How about they sell a 'Navigator' model with unrestricted navigation, not this 6 month bullshit.

Now something's REALLY wrong, at 25k points per city, and 2k points for clicking in less then a second, the maximum number of points is 270k for 10 cities.

Yet, there are people with ~300k+ points, wtf?

Something Really Fishy here

I tried this. Clicked before a second passed not bothering about accuracy. You get 2000 points as bonus. When you click with pin point accuracy, (0 Km), you get 25000 points. So technically in 10 attempts you can't go beyond 270000 yet there are a few people with more than 270000. How's that possible ? Have tried to see if the bonus increases for both correctness and time . .. even while hitting on a city within 0Km and with 7sec remaining, I couldn't get anything more than 26400.

I managed to do OK, but can't see how the scores happened - very nice promotional idea though - quite an addictive game!
