The N95 8GB gets v30 too!

I'm still not seeing the classic N95 update on my Software Updater, it insists the latest version is 2. Does it only appear country by country or something?

I'm in Finland btw, and using the SIM-free version.

Since the N95-1 and the N95 8gb both got updates, any sign of an update for the N95-3 as well?

I am wondering the same also.... as that is d phone i also have - Last time Nokia took forever.... please Nokia don't let us US Nokia users wait....

Just tried updating and it seems this update is not released for Vodafone users yet

Do you guys know if there will be a similar update coming soon for the E90 aswell?

Just tried to update my N95 8GB and Nokia Software Updater is telling me that 20.x is the lastest version and that I cannot update my phone. Bah!

Updated 2 days ago, here you go:

- no change in battery consumption (on a daily heavy usage)
- several restarts while sending first SMS, installing Opera Mini (in a low signal envir), Talkonaut;
- flash 3 is still very buggy;
- real player drops frames and freezes in MP4;
- some (pizero's) themes are not stable anymore (i.e. Quasar theme keeps unloading while entering Nokia Chat);

Just updated this morning.

Does anyone else notice faster and stronger GPS pickups? Mine have gone from about 5 minutes to 30 seconds. This could be due to me sorting out A-GPS but I think it's the new firmware...

What does it take to get this updater? I just unboxed our new, unlocked N95 8GB (RM-421) and it insists 20.2.005 is the newest FW ver.

I am in the US, and the box seems to claim it's the US/Canadian version, but not attached to a carrier in any way. The wife won it at a MobileWidgetCampAustin this weekend. Straight from the Nokia guys to us.

I'd like to do the software update BEFORE I install anything, so if it's gonna be just a few days or a week, I'll wait for it instead of having to backup and restore.

if you have firmware v20 and check for update is showing you no update available download the latest NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER for your phone model from nokia.com, it has nothing to do with region. I am from Bangladesh I was downloading the v30 suddenly after 90mb of download, it stopped and when I started checking for update over and over again it showed ''no update available' then next when I checked for update it continued downloading from the 90mb.

As far as I know, there's no v30 yet for the RM-421 (North American market version of the N95 8GB). It'll probably come a bit later as has been the case in the past.

the company from where the phone originates must first approve of the new firmware, before i can work, so if your phone in anyway is branded, you must wait for approval.

Any bump for usb transfer speed ?
