n96 pre-order @ £535 nokia.co.uk - nokia store knew nothing

the N96 is up for preorder on www.nokia.co.uk
says shipping september.

i went into regent st nokia store who had pre-order forms to fill out
but had no price or shipping date.

i said would it be less than £535 - they said it would be MUCH MORE.

so i told them it was on nokia.co.uk for that and they went to check

alway nice to inform people. the didn't have a clue.

Sorry the price is ridiculous.
In Germany the mobile is announced by Nokia for 550 Euro (around 440 GPB).

i know its stupid - 550€ is the list price isnt it? but thats minus sales tax

£440 + 17.5% vat = £517 so its not far away.

but yep its too much considering the equally able N95 8gb
is almost £200 cheaper.

Well, not really.
The price was announced in Germany for Euro 550 as list price incl. 19% tax.
So 110 £ more in UK. Thats why is the price so ridiculous in my opinion

I am sorry, my previous source was complete wrong.
First was stated that the N96 is listed as Euro 550 incl. VAT, now its corrected.
The price is 550 Euro excl. VAT, in Austria its even sold for 749 Euro incl. VAT.
Sorry for that.
But I still think the price is ridiculous.
Wondering how the N85 will be listed

they list the n96 for 849USD .. or about 475 Sterling.
