AAS is fast growing!!!

I think that there's a need for discussion...read on.

It is evident that AAS have become a VERY BIG forum and has a large follwing. Google Nokia 7650 and you'll see AAS. This only means that the N7650 has sold a lot, and some 3650 would be too.

AAS has given, not to mention has enforced, rules for each member to abide by. I believe in the spirit of the rule and the entirety of the rule and not phrases only. But, sad to say, there are those people who will always will break, deviate, avoid, etc., these rules.

Given this scenario, I would like to ask, can the Moderators still handle the influx of threads? The 7650 group of threads have so much already, that I would suggest it to be regrouped or reclassified, for easier moderation.

I have noticed that most of the threads get updated during night time here in the Philippines. (+8GMT). There are certain lull times that I do not see a moderator after some time. It would be really difficult for you MODS to handle all these things. (MOD is NOT an easy job, phew)

It is a given too, that there will be more and more apps to come for the series 60. How would you handle all the file attachements or warez, or trials?

May I suggest, that there would be a time for uploading of files. Or, better yet, uploading of files is to be approved by a moderator. Only approved files would be uploaded properly. When a member uploads, the link would become, "Under review". This way, it would help you guys, and avoid heated discussions as well.

I really like this place and it's not nice to see it get degraded by some "wise" people.

I hope that this warez thing or whatever it is could be solved.

More power to AAS.

Kobe,

Thanks for the words of support, the Warez issue is an ongoing issue and has been for quite sometime.

While I see your point about the moderators not being here all the time I would say that even if you do see a moderator on-line they won't read every single post. I tend to have a quick check if there are attachments involved, but finding links to sites is a different story. Hopefully we have a bunch of moderators whos interest spans the whole of the forum, so we are bound to pick warez in a very short time.

Also another way we have tried to cut down the amount of post recently is the 'report to moderator' in which a user can report a post to a moderator, each moderator of the forum the post is in will receive an email regarding this and also a new subject is created in 'Post Reports' forum so all moderators can read and act upon the post.

I'm glad to say this has worked out quite well, and whilst I agree with you that there are lots of applications comming out for the Series 60 Platform and others, there is quite a lot going on at the moment to try and stop warez and abusive posts.

KObe,

As Izzo says thanks for the feedback. The forum conditions are under constant review (and actually as a side not I'll be uploading a new version of the rules which will hopefully clarify some things shortly).

I actually need to do some recruitment to help with the site (and not just moderating), but am perosnally in a busy patch of work <sigh>!

New set of rules will surely help. I would think though, that you would have to need an iron hand to implement it to "wise guys".

I am not really into web design, and stuff but I could sure do some reviews, and give comments. Just drop me a PM and I'd do anything to help.

Why is it that I don't remember giving it to you? Or maybe I did? But I sure was drunk when that happened. (hic).
