PC Suite, Maps, Share Online, all updated

A round of quick updates for you to note: Nokia PC Suite is now at v7.0.8.2, Nokia Maps (for FP1 devices) is at v2.0 Build 3204 and Share Online is at v3.0.08.23. All no doubt mainly bug fixes, but I'm a version junkie and am grabbing them anyway (via Ricky Cadden)

Good to know Mr. Steve that you too are a version junkie.

That being said one app that definetely should be updated is the N-gage application.

Hope they release the 1.01 Build 1296 or a better one for the public soon.

I moved from E90 to E71....so far, not a happy camper. Latest PC Suite is such a pain....Perhaps someone can confirm this rather SERIOUS bugs.

If you receive sms, Nokia Comm Centre crashes in 90% of the cases. Then you have to sync all contacts or all sms (inbox and sent) and it takes forever. Even worse, every time I reconect, I have to sync everything ! What a waste of time if your address book is 1000 or so.

Furthermore, I have posted earlier about this - send sms using pc suite, from contact book. on the phone, sent items foder shows number, not the NAME of recepient. This has been going for some time now, to be exact, last version that worked correctly was Nokia_PC_Suite_681_rel_13_eng_web. Is Nokia EVER going to fix this ?

Finally (I know, ranting) - what is Nokia's solution for BB client ?
I am sitting with latest phone and have to use rather pathetic email application.

Don't get me wrong, I love the size, speed improvement, bettery life but all that is rather insignifact if I get messaging device that does not send proper sms using PC suite and can not retrieve email using most popular (eaiest to set up too) corporate solution.

I think the SMS feature of PC Suite is the newest component, so it's also the part that's most likely to be full of bugs. It should improve over time as the feature matures, though of course ideally release software shouldn't ever have bugs at all.

On Blackberry, if I've understood correctly, Nokia is deliberately trying to promote their own business e-mail solutions so they're somewhat sidelining BB on their newer devices as they don't want to help a rival.

there was an issue with the first release of Share Online v3 with vodafone 3g connections in that users were not able to upload photos to their Flickr account. The only way to resolve the problem was to format the phone to get rid of Share Online v3 and revert to v2. Has this problem been resolved yet?

For some reason the latest versions of Nokia PC Suite create problems opening Word and Excel on my computer. Both programmes take up to a minute to open! I have had to re-install Nokia PC Suite 6.84.10.3. No idea why this occurs and I havn't had any joy from Nokia

All latest versions working fine here, and Im running Vista Business. I do however, have the old problem again with NSU now, stating there's missing critical components.! Grrrrrr.

I've also update share online on E71 to 3.0 but everytime I try to upload/share, the app just quit. Viewing users media works fine.

Off topic: can't find the Yahoo! go 3.0 topic but yahoo says currently not available for E71. But 2.0 works fine too. Someone can help me, any ways to update to v.3?

I was having the same problem, Share Online would unexpectedly quit when adding an image to a post (I'm using Flickr specifically). I reinstalled from the link included in the original post and reactivated my Flickr account and it seems to be working again. My guess is that over time something just breaks it and may require constant reinstalls, so if any others haven't upgraded, I'd sit this upgrade out.

An update to my last post - Share Online v3 worked for a grand total of 1 upload before breaking again. Share Online just quits when adding a photo to a new post - the reinstall did not buy much time at all.
