A decent game

Dirk dagger is a luff of fresh air, haven't really had a decent adventure game in a while excluding the Sam & Max series so it's nice to laugh to my hearts content with a game like Dirk Dagger. Still I have to agree the game was just too easy and to linear, I was hopping to have mistakes to make and be punished by it... It's still a great story and I hope they get a sequel out that improves on the shortcomings of this first game.

I do agree that it was funny, though it was a bit pricey.
(Besides having issues with activation emails not being sent).

I do agree on the review that the point system is a bit weird, but I guess I know the trick to get good scores.
It's just to explore around as much as possible and choose the questions that seems most weird.

(Got the first place on the Arena as of 21. August 08)

Dextro, I agree with everything you said. It's great to have a new adventure to play, and the humour was great, but the gameplay was too dull.

I think the price is okay if you just rent it for a day or a week.

This isn't the kind of game you would want to play through more than once, and you can easily complete it in a few hours.

Cool game. I even made it as #2 in the 'top detectives' ranking.

I agree with the review though, the game was a bit too easy and linear. But please, don't make it quite as hard as the oldies like DOTT etc... However, I definitely think this game was more worthy the €8 than Bounce. Bounce was fun too, but way way way too short.

Raven, you might want to try renting games if you think they're too short.

I'd certainly recommend to people that they rent Dirk Dagger for a day or week instead of buying it outright. You're bound to get the game completed in that time and an adventure game is not something you'd want to replay that much once you've completed it.

Like its console cousin Mario, Bounce isn't actually that short if you try to get all the bonuses. If you ignore them some levels seem really easy, but once you try to get 100% of the bonuses the levels become much more difficult. Then there's the Arena levels to beat too, which add replay value.
