Links work on N95-3 again!

Finally, all of the links work on my N95-3 again. That last release was pretty annoying due not being able to easily navigate, say, the search results.

Screen now stays bright while gmaps 2.2 is in foreground until battery goes flat.
I am using a Nokia N82 with latest updates.
Is this a new feature ? How can I get gmaps to only do this if the charger is connected ?

These features in mapping apps would be wonderfully useful if they were kept current, but in my part of the world at least the data they use seems years out of date. It's not just one company, all the mapping companies I've tried have had different major flaws in their data.

Lightbulb sync

What if google synchronized google maps with social services. Imagine viewing a facebook-event and adding the location to your personal google map with one click. Also imagine geotagged photos on facebook automatically on your map as small icons (on an optional layer).

E66/E71 fix

Looks like the fixed the My Location is unavailble bug with the E66/E71 over 3G in the U.S.. As soon as the app loads My location is able to grab the A-GPS info properly again before satellite lock.

@Unregisted in Australia: yes, download http://www.google.com/gmm/GoogleMaps.sisx and side load that to your phone.

vodafone may have a special rate access google maps if you use the Vodafone Live! connection, but I don't know if something like this applies in your country:

http://www.vodafone.com/start/media_..._location.html
"Once the application is installed, only the Mobile Internet rate (0.99 euros per day) is charged for downloads of maps."

Was excited to hear they'd added public transport directions... and thought that might even include walking directions.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to have any data for the London Underground, or even for major UK train routes. It did flash up a message warning me they had incomplete data for my search, but the Tube is a pretty major omission.

As for walking directions, these do seem to be included in a public transport search, but the only guidance you're given is a straight line between start and end point, which only seems appropriate if you're walking behind an armoured tank that smashes holes in buildings.

Oh well, at least the GPS pointer has a little arrow on it now.
