Papyrus hits v1.4, major new version

Papyrus, everybody's favourite S60 Calendar replacement, has been given a big update after a silence of 8 months. v1.4.01 contains a huge list of changes, so go read. The new version is a free update to registered users, naturally. (via Ricky) Here's our review of Papyrus, although with all the changes it's starting to look a bit outdated!

Read on in the full article.

Angry Issues Papyrus 1.4.01

Papyrus is indeed a fantastic calendar application. I am an early user and a big fan. However, after having installed 1.4.01 on my N82, I noticed that:

- "Full Screen" feature has gone, so less information is visible on the small display
- Switching to task view quits the application

I am switching back to version 1.3 again and wait until the Task view issue has been resolved. I never had any issues with version 1.3 although I must stress that the tabbed appointment creation is a big improvement.

Question

I will give it a try again, although - despite greater functionality of Papyrus - I have long time ago switched to Handy Calendar. The latter has more features but is very stable compared to Papyrus.

Switching to tasks and filtering them (which now finally seems to be working properly!) does not crash the program on my e90. In turn, however, the program has already managed to crash a few times on various other ocasions...

But, as mentioned, I will give it a try. If not for stability issues, it would be a great piece of soft!

Of course in my previous post I was going to say that Handy Calendar has less features than Papyrus but is by far more stable!

Thumbs down

I have just quit giving Papyrus a chance - the application crashes on my e90 when switching between the internal screen (Papyrus in the background) to the external screen or back...

I am back with Handy Calendar!
