It's an m.web - A Top Ten Mobile Web Sites
With Mowser's impending demise, a lot of discussion has been centred this week on the future of the mobile web. Ewan reckons that it's stronger than ever and has produced a rundown of his Top 10 mobile web sites as evidence. What's especially interesting is that some of these m.versions are more useful than either the full desktop-designed site or the service's own downloadable client. Comments welcome: what other m.sites have you found that are also worthy of a mention?
Read on in the full article.

You forgot to mention AAS's own mobile site which I prefer to the full version for two main reasons.
1 - It displays the news items in the order they are posted, I tend to miss some articles on the full site cause they appear half way down the page.
2 - It looks good in the S60 browser, unlike the full version of AAS which has some serious issues in the S60 browser, for example adverts (especially flash ones) appearing over the top of the main menus making them unselectable.
Sadly it seems that owners of many sites dedicated to Symbian fail to ensure their code renders correctly in the S60 browser, Nokia themselves are just as guilty, although most of theirs work now.
The only thing I don't like about the AAS mobile site is that (despite it being reported many times) the link to the Forum never works bringing up a 'ioncube php loader' error, it used to link to the full AAS forum at one time which IMHO was much better than the cut down mobilised version.

Great List!
FWIW, those on a pay as you go data connection might prefer the new(ish) beta of Bloglines Mobile, which strips the graphics out of incoming feeds:

We do try to keep the featured items to a limit of two!
(There are some days when it might be three or even four though...)

Just to say I've taken on board the feedback about the mobile site. I'm trying to find a workable solution for the forum (or rather its on my list) - suggestions welcome.

I would just use the forum link from the mobile site to go to the full desktop version of the forum, which works fine in the s60 browser.

Good idea Rakat - I've added a link to the full forum. I'll still try and find a good mobile solution, but until I do at least there's something that can be used.

Mobile Web Site Index
You should also check out Keynote’s weekly mobile performance index which shows the average response times, success rates and download speeds for select mobile sites including CNN, ESPN, Facebook, Fandango, Google, MapQuest, MSN, Schwab, The Weather Channel and Yahoo! It’s updated every week! http://www.keynote.com/keynote_compe.../us_index.html

A simlpe portal of links
I thought I'd add a site I put together on http://da.gp that contains a whole load of links that I've tested for quality of service on a mobile phone. The domain (da.gp) is also really easy to enter if you've got a standard mobile phone keypad because it corresponds to keys 32147.
It's quite UK biased, so if anyone wants to help maintain a country-specific landing page for their home country, please get in touch on the contact page at http://cms.da.gp

top ten mobile websites should include www.sno.mobi
Hi - can I put mobile ski resort guide www.sno.mobi forward - the world's first complete resort guide which works on ALL mobile phones
forget lame snow forecast sites which only serve pages in html or xhtml mp - sno.mobi works whether your phone needs wml 1.0 or cHTML or what ever and it puts the whole ski resort in your pocket!
check out their Chamonix pages (they launched there 2 months ago) to see how they've got the lot from webcams to piste maps and apres ski bars and restaurants (even ski school and lifts and piste info and opening).
Unlike everyone else, their site was designed for mobile from the start (their PC pages even have a working mobile phone on them so you can browse www.sno.mobi just like on your cell phone)
v cool
