TomTom & N95....... (Yes i've used the search ;-) )
I've looked at about 10 threads and I'm still none the wiser
I know that the internal GPS wont work, that's not my problem, it's trying to work out if that is the ONLY reason TT6 isn't compatible.
One thread has people using TT6 with external GPS no problem, another has people saying that the software just isn't working but it's not possible to decipher the queries.
I have an external GPS that I used sucessfully with TT5 on my N70.
My question is simple, Will TT6 work on my N95 using an external GPS (BT-338) or another way of saying it, does it work and is anyone ACTUALLY using it like this, straight out of the box?
All I get when I phone TT is a canadian bird reading a script telling me that it's not a compatible phone If I ask her why it's not compatible, i get another script, If I ask her if she means that TT6 won't work with my internal GPS, I get another hazy script in a nasal Canadian accent.
Someone just tell me, in layman terms, does it work? Out of the box, bought from TT, not a pirate, normal phone.
In advance
Cheers

If you need support from tomtom, just tell them you have an E65. Its a S60 3rd edition phone, so any problems are likely to be the same.
As you have found out, they simply wont talk to you if you dont have a compatible phone.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Bart, you are right, it is staggering, the resolve those guys have on the phone. They state the script and then if you ask for details they say they don't know, then if you press them again they simply say... buy it if you dare!!!!
Rubbish!

I called TT again, pretended I had a E61 and asked if TT6 could be downloaded from the site, yes came the answer, where about I said, so she guided me through the site and declared at the end, Oh, sorry, it's only an update!!!!
This was an Aussie bird this time!!!! They might wanna concentrate on training their staff rather than surrounding themselves with united nations!!!
*Off to buy a Garmin* Bollox, to 'em, I offered 'em £70 of my money and it feels as if though they have gotten greedy and want me to buy a dedicated, more expensive unit instead. Fcuk off, you are now having NONE of my hard earned!.

I have TomTom Navigator 6 running perfectly well on my N95 with UK and Western Europe maps, using an external 44ch GPS. Works a treat, especially with the phone connected via Bluetooth to my Sony HU. "Janet's" dulcet tones sound so much better through 6 speakers
Stick with it if you can. It WILL work and is by far the best Sat Nav solution on the market at the moment. Sadly though, it looks as if TTN6 is the last hurrah on Symbian :(
