ahh how come after i put in the sim card and everything the N80 still has no contacts and i cannot make or receive any calls? does it make a difference if im online or offline?

plus when i send messages they go into my outbox.

yes it makes a difference if your online/offline...

you want to make/receive calls you need to be online.

sending messages will go to your outbox, and should be classed as 'sending' for a few seconds then move to your sent folder.

If your contacts are stored on the SIM you need to make sure the phone is reading SIM and not phone memory... or at least both.

thanks it's better now, at least i can make and receive calls.
however, i have some problem with messaging.

for certain people, i have no problem but for some others, no matter how many times i try, the message stays in the outbox labelled as "failed"
the reason for the failure is 'invalid phone or message centre number. check the number.'

please help, i dun want to only be able to send messages to half the people in my contacts. =(
